Just thought I'd share this video because Sara is so cute and because it is SO Jena.
All you Jena fans will get a kick out of it.

Camping Trip
We took a little hike to a log teepee someone had made.
Ryan could not quite understand the difference between teepee and tiki so we had to have a little lesson about indians and islanders.
Barry tried really hard to not catch a fish, but Ry ended up getting one and he was so proud of it!
I know that sounds mean but we don' t really eat them and Ry will not release them, he just wants to play with it until the whole camp smells like fish.
Teri and the kids.
As you can see they were adorable!
Sara thought camping was fabulous!
Jena the Motorcross Babe!
Sara was driving, just ask her!
And you haven't been camping unless you take the potato gun with you and the park ranger comes to find out who is shooting a gun. :)

1st Day of School
This kid was awake, dressed and making his bed at 6:45 am!
Yes, I said making his bed!
Yes, I said making his bed!

He was less than thrilled about the 'dorky' hat his teacher made him wear.
He is more than ecstatic about eating lunch at school and 3 recesses!

Jena was totally 'cool' about the first day of 'real school'.

She could not stop spinning in this skirt, nor could she pass up the chance to 'pose' in front of her school.

i told you
I think I said it somewhere that I would probably leave this blog lagging behind. Sorry. But you have google reader right? If you don't know what that is then we need to chat my friends. It makes blog reading sooo easy.
Just a picture to share that cracked me up.
This little man can get himself in severe trouble. Recently it's minute to minute with him.
But apparently he knows how to make up for it.

The kids got a new desk in their room. Like their room is not packed full of enough furniture as is. None the less, they love it and so does Sara. Almost everyday I find Sara coloring the top of the desk. Who needs paper?

Ashley did Jena's hair when she was here a few days ago. It was SO cute! These pictures do not do it justice. She totally needs to teach me how to do this.

Sara and her new cousin Katie.
She is so cute with her and Katie is pretty darn cute herself. :)
Summer is not complete at our house without corn on the cob at every meal.
Sara totally agree's!

Look closely at this picture. Wrapped in a blanket and then taped up.
Only 2 people could be responsible for this, my brothers Matt and Bart.
Since Bart was at home in Kansas it falls to Matt.
This is the kind of thing that happened to me daily growing up.
For some reason though, my kids like it.

My Thing
A conversation with my sister-in-law Michelle on Saturday.
Michelle-Hey, I was at Costco and noticed they have Breaking Dawn for $12.5o. I'm getting one, do you want me to get you one.
Me-No, I'll just borrow yours or Nat's when your done. Which will be in like 24 hours.
Michelle-But don't you want your own? (she is truly bewildered)
Me-Why? So it will just sit on my book shelf?
Michelle-What if you want to read it again sometime?
Me-Not likely, but if so I'll borrow yours or go to the library.
Michelle-(again, a little miffed) Well, ok.
See Michelle is one of those collector people I have talked about before, who reads a 700 page book in like 4.2 hours, owns tons of 12 book series and has shelves and shelves of books so she can read them again at any given moment. Now there is nothing wrong with this, don't get me wrong.
Me, I just don't understand it. Why spend $12.50 when I can borrow it? Why take up the shelf space, otherwise known as clutter in my brain, when you can just borrow it again?
I later had a conversation with Barry about people who sell their wedding dresses.
Me-How could you sell your wedding dress?
Barry-Why not? It's not like your going to use it again.
Me- But it's your wedding dress.
Barry-So you won't buy a book for $12.50 that you may use again, but you'll buy a wedding dress for $600 that you will never use again and but keep it forever.
Me-Yes, I'm allowed to be sentimental about my Wedding Dress!
Barry-You could sell it and get like $300.
Me-Uh, NO.
We all have our 'thing' I guess. Mine is my Wedding dress, not Books.
And just as planned, Nat was done with her book in 24 hours and Michelle is in the middle of another series she wants to finish first so I could have 2 books for free if I wanted.
Starting it today, we'll see if anything else gets done around here. :)
