No Fear

I got brave on Thursday and decided to take all 3 kids swimming by myself. Not sure what I was thinking! The kids had a great time as they always do when swimming. I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least and am now thinking 3 kids really is a lot more work than 2. I lost Jena twice, Ryan once and smacked Sara in the head with the dressing room door. They did all come home happy and with no bruises though! We will definitely be bringing Daddy next time we go swimming.

This was the first time Sara had gone swimming and boy did she have a great time. I knew she loved the bath and splashed like a maniac every time she gets in, but I still thought she might be nervous in the pool. Boy was I wrong. She crawled right in until it was over her face and then sat up, sputtered and coughed, started to laugh and then got right back on her belly and began to kick and flap her arms while swallowing a ton of water and again, sat up and laughed. It was so cute! She kept trying to get me to let go of her so she could swim to the kids. I was only holding her with one hand on her belly but it was too much for her, she wanted to be Free! She didn't think it was near as fun when I put her in her tube. She just kept trying to climb out. Her swimming suit is 18 months size! I think they tend to make them too small, ecspecially with diapers, but she makes chubby look good. Check her out, she is adorable!

My sister sent me the link to this inspiring video. It is a lecture given by Randy Pausch, a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He is dying of Pancreatic Cancer and this is his last lecture titled, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams." It is worth the watch, but the full lecture is 1 hour 15 minutes! You have to find the time to watch it. There is a short version because Oprah asked him to come on her show and give it again. By the way, I'm not so sure how I feel about Oprah these days, she is getting pretty far out there on some things. I haven't been very impressed with her stand or opinions lately. Sorry, little tangent, her are the video links-

By the way, I haven't even really thought about my talk yet...
I'm so stubborn I frustrate myself!
