A More Real Love Story

Just after I posted this Melissa called and told me to go watch this. And Melissa, you're right, laughter and tears cause it's all too real!

Mommy Rhapsody

So obviously I'm bored, what can I say?

From a lucky girl

It's the dad life

Okay, I admit this is a little hard to watch at first but if you can get past how incredibly lame it is, it's pretty darn funny.
Love the part when the dad is crying in the Disney Movie and his daughter is looking at him like he's crazy, also love the part where he's dancing and hurts his back.

on the brain

  1. my kids argued over who got to clean the toilets today. true story.
  2. after watching the show 'loosing it with jillian' barry commented how he wished we could go on that show but we aren't fat enough.??? apparently his view has become VERY skewed.
  3. this morning ryan asked me why I wasn't as skinny as aunt teri.
  4. i smacked him and told him to go live with aunt teri. ha! i kid...you hope!  see number 2.
  5. teri, ryan's bags are ready for your skinny butt to come pick him up.
  6. i have a 5 month old who thinks he needs to eat 4 times a night. what's with that?
  7. we are driving 1600 miles round trip to my brother's house in kansas in two weeks. we are very excited.
  8. sara peed her pants at our family reunion in a sandbox at a woods cross city park yesterday. {hello run on sentence} makes you think before taking your kids to the park huh? sorry.
  9. i need a good, inexpensive treadmill. anybody know where to get one?
  10. jena just got out of her bed for the 8th time. i kid you not. grrrr.
  11. ryan is counting down the days until he gets to be a big 3rd grader.
  12. he might not be the only one.
  13. if any of you knew jena at 3 years old, sara is jena times 5. for real.

14. barry just walked in from teaching at the academy, sat down in front of the tv and is now eating a bowl of cookie dough. see number 2.

Things that make you go hmmm.

So I've come upon a few things this morning in my dear friend Google Reader.
Have a look for yourself-

Have y'all ever heard of this blog?
Stuff White People Like
It's apparently now a book now too.
I'm totally confused and utterly intrigued at the same time.
Hmmm.

I'd also like to purchase myself one of these little babies.
Actually I'd like someone else to purchase it for me.
Be a Dear and send me a gift would ya!

And for all those who were around about March 2007,
here is a little bit of information for you.
Remember this little episode? That brought about this hair cut?

Oh Yes, She Did!

Jenaka Mae has CUT HER HAIR AGAIN!

*#@**#%!!!!

June 16, 2008

Oh that smell

Don't you just love the smell of babies.

Not the Johnson and Johnson lotion smell, even though that's good too.

The real smell.

The kiss their cheeks and you never want to let go kind of smell.

I think it's what causes some mothers to say, ooh I could just eat you up, even though I think that is a very weird thing to say.

Sara is so sick of me this morning.

I can't stop kissing her and inhaling how great she smells.

That's what she gets for being so darn cute.

June 13, 2008

Help Wanted

If someone could just come over to my house and shoot me I would really appreciate it. I think I would rather die than be this sick! Now I feel even more bad for Sara even though she's over it now.

Big Fat Liar

Ok, so I lied.

But, I have exciting news.

You know when your trying to loose weight (ok, I know that's all the time, but pretend it's not) and you reach that plateau and you just can't get over it?

Well I just stepped on the scales and I am one happy girl! I'm down to a number that I haven't been since Jena was born 5 years ago!

Plus I'm fully clothed and it's night time.

You all know you weigh less in the morning.

Un-Clothed.

Tomorrow morning should be good, oh so good.

I'm stopping, I swear!

I'm on sort of a posting marathon.

This is the last one, I promise.

But would you take a look at my profile...

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Are you done?

Ok, so did you see it?

I changed Barry's age to 28! I know, he's been 28 since March, I just forgot to change it.

So now we are only 1 year apart.

That is until October.

Then I have to put the big 30 next to my name.

Hmmm.

I might just have to forget to do that.

Dear Steve Jobs

Dearest Steve,

Let it be said, you are brilliant. Really, you are.
Even still, I still have a bit of a problem.
See I purchased your oh so lovely iphone a few months back.
I tried to have patience and wait till the price was reasonable.
But alas my old phone could go on no longer and it's days where over.
So you see, I was forced into a pre-mature purchase.
I knew better, I really did.
Whats a girl to do?

And then you did it. I knew you would.
You always have to make it bigger and better and cheaper.
But really, HALF the price!
Was that really neccessary?
I just screams to all your loyal customers 'Sucker!'
Oh sure, everyone else loves you.
I don't.
I want my $200 bucks back.
Or a new iphone would do.

We could be friends again you know.
It wouldn't take much.
You know how to reach me.

With regret,

Buyers Remorse

let summer begin

this little one loves ice cream.
if you try to take her cone she will crush it before she lets go.
hands off!
she will share a little if you want a kiss though
i bought a slip and slide.
sorry dad, there goes the lawn.
the kiddos are in heaven.
except that it won't stop raining now.
she didn't want to get her hair wet.

but the she changed her mind.
couldn't let the boys show her up.

he had a little directional control issues.
couldn't seem to stay on the slide.
This is random, but it's for my sister-in-law Karen.
this my brother Bart, he's...full of it.
Is it any wonder where Allie gets it from?
Look at her and Bart. Too Funny!
Plus, look at you and Spencer.
Then...look at Matt...I think he's drawn to the dark side!

you know what happens when your husband takes over your ipod and fills it with star wars music? you steal your sons shuffle to go walking in the morning only to discover that it is full of cartoon kid music and more star wars.
The next thing you know you are saying stuff like 'the dark side' and getting excited with your husband about a new star wars wii game that will be like real light saber fighting.
I gotta get out more!

and your saying, wait you have an iphone, why don't you use that?
can't find the adapter for the headphones.
sadly Apples 1 flaw to the iphone.

Genius

Have you been to your local Apple Store lately?

We make a date night out of it about every 3 months. (or more, ask my kids, they love it)

It's the only place you can go hug, caress and oggle the hardware and not get strange looks.

Don't believe me?

Go hang out at the Apple Store.

How could you not anyway?

First of all, it's a Mac, Apple, Macintosh. Call it what you want.

2nd it works...damn near perfect. Have you ever recieved a fatal error sign on your mac? I think not. What? You don't have one? But you've used one and you want one right? No? Get off my blog. NOW. really, get off.

3rd just look at the packaging. You buy something at Apple, doesn't matter what it is. Your excited to take it home and play with it. They bring it out from the back room.

And you fall in love all over again. It's just so beautiful. It's effecient. It's organized. Need I say it just makes sense! You don't even want to take it out of the package. It's just too darn pretty. Right down to the receipt which they email to you. I so love that.

4th The Genius Bar. Now this is what I was really gonna talk about. In the rare event that something isn't working just perfectly on your mac or perhaps your just an idiot (as was the case of the man sitting next to me today. how can you not find the burn button in itunes or imovie? Seriously?) then you take it to see an Apple Genius.

See my iphone, it got a little sick. Just some sniffles thats all. I'm sure it's because I used and abused it. I dropped it once, it's true, it had a small dent. But hey, at least I didn't drop it in the toilet, eh Natalie! (miraculously hers has almost recovered from that disaster) Anyway, the point. My phone had frozen on me 5-6 times. I would reboot and all was well. A bit annoying. So I'm at the Gateway today and I decide to see what they have to say.Long story short, I have a new iphone.

Just like that. Almost no questions asked.

I Love You Apple.

But here's something I didn't expect.

Wait, first of all, this is what I did expect and had previously experienced.See the Genius, the one in the black shirt for all of you who did not get off my blog when asked to do so. He's sort of good looking, young, a bit trendy most of the time, only slightly computer geekish. Well that is what all the genius' used to look like.

Now, they look like...well take the guy a few photo's up, holding all the iphone bags. Take him, now make him 6 inches shorter, 50lbs heavier, balder, scruffier, geekier, and throw in some 'still live with my mother' vibes.

I'm not really sure what happened, but I have a theory.
All the PC guys, you know the ones that fit that last description, they finally saw the light or they lost their jobs. Take your pick. And they thought to themselves, those Apple Genius' are pretty cool, I'll bet they get lots of chicks. And there you have it.

All the real Genius' are working from home, teaching the slower crowd how to use their new mac, and making bank I might say.

You Are a Mac

You are creative, stylish, and super trendy.

You demand the best - even if it costs an arm and a leg.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda

So, I'm suppose to be packing for our trip. Suppose to be. Instead I'm blog surfing.

Yep, it's what I do best.

Founds some pretty good ones to. My Google Reader list is getting a bit out of control.

Had to share this one though. Remember when I said something about being able to laugh at yourself? I got this off of someones top 5 weird things about Utah and I gotta say she has our accent down pat. Totally funny.

You've heard of Ebonics? How about Utahnics? The Utah accent is really hard to reproduce in print but it's kind of like a choppier version of a Valley Girl accent with more frequent abuse of misplaced glottal stops. Mountain: see, Mau-en. Clinton: see, Cli-en. Also: pillow, milk, crayon, and mirror = pellow, melk, cren, and meer.

If you want to read the whole thing go here. One of those few posts where someone totally has Utah nailed and it's not offensive. A Rare Gem I'm sure.

**Updated**

By Blog keeps centering everything by itself.

Super Annoying!

Because I'm So Interesting You All Just Can't Stand It!

Where is your cell phone? Hmmm, good question, the car, my purse, kitchen counter, diaper bag.

Your significant other? Driving in Traffic to go teach at the Police Academy. His radio is usually so loud that if I call him he can't hear the phone or even feel the vibrate cause his bass is doing too much vibrating of it's own. Can we say Honda Civic with a massage built in.

Your hair? Just cut, shorter than it's been in about 3 years. Loving it!

Your mother? Probably sleeping in.

Your father? Neurotically over packing for our vacation.

Your favorite thing? If we are talking things...It's gotta be my computer or my iPhone. I'm already packing the laptop for the trip and looking up wifi spots.

Your dream last night? No dreams, just a baby who slept all night! That is a wonderful dream.

Your favorite drink? Ah, like you can't guess. Pepsi is running though my veins.

The room you are in? The office.

Your ex? Haven't gone down that road in years.

Your fear? All things to do with my children. Probably that they will get kidnapped or abused in some way.

Where do you want to be in 6 years? Beating Dooce out of her number 1 blogger spot. I mean she's funny and all but she makes money tearing apart my religion. She must go. (Notice, no linky to her.)

Where were you last night? At Melissa's house seeing the effects of a pregnant women 'nesting'.

What you are not? A party goer, fake, patient.

Muffins? They are OK. Love moms apple muffins though.

One of your wish list items? A house, any house will do if it is my own.

Where you grew up? Right here in this very house. Can we say sad. It's true.

The last thing you did? Started making orange juice. The kids are currently trying to finish that task. In fact, I should get in there.

What are you wearing? My husbands t-shirt, lounge pants and glasses.

Your TV? OFF. So over TV since the strike. This is good.

Your pets? In kitty heaven.

Your computer? iMac, love it so much I could hug it.

Your life? Can you say Soccer Mom with a Mini Van. Who would have ever thought. A bit stressful lately, seems like we are on hold.

Your mood? Edgy. It could go either way today.

Missing someone? The minute he walks out the door every morning.

Your car? Makes this annoying squeak that apparently no one can hear but me and my mom. The shop thinks I'm crazy.

Something you are not wearing? A Bra, that is so freeing.

Favorite store? Everyday - Target. No Money Considered - Pottery Barn or Land of Nod.

Your summer? Will it ever get here!

Like someone? I like lots of people when I'm in the mood.

Your favorite color? Red.

When is the last time you laughed? Yesterday, Sara laying on the grass with all fours up in the air trying not to touch the grass and a look of disgust on her face.

Last time you cried? Not really a big crier. Sometimes I wish I was. Probably reading Charlie Cooper's Blog.

Who will repost this? What am I, Psychic?

I scream, You scream

I've never heard of this but how can I pass it up! You can go to Baskin Robbins tonight and get .31 cent scoops of ice cream! Sweet! We are in.
