Iatrophobia

So in the last few weeks I have seen more than my fair share of medical personnel.

It all started with the Dentist. I'm getting all my silver fillings replaced with white. I have really cavity prone teeth. I'm doing it because I want to go get Zoom Whitening. So I have had 4 different appointments to get this done and thanks to my good friend Laughing Gas, I have made it through.

Next I had a sinus infection so I took a little trip to the Family Practice Doc. He proceeded to explain to me that I was getting old and it was time I started having yearly physicals. Read 'Your turning the big 3.0. this year and I'm going to rub it in with a Physical'.

So a few weeks later I'm back again for my physical. The doc is a nice guy, we used to live a few houses up the street from him. But that can be a little awkward. It's much better to have a doctor see you naked, in broad daylight of all things, when he no longer lives just a few houses down and you don't have to say hello to his wife and children in church the next Sunday.

I left there with a Tetnus shot, officially diagnosed high tryglycerides (big surprise), a Matabolism booster which I'm pretty skeptical about, but we'll see, and an appointment with a Physical Therapist for the pinched nerve in my shoulder that got worse from sleeping on the floor on our little vacation, no wait, our TRIP to Kansas. I awoke the next day with a super duper sore arm by the way, Tetnus shots really do hurt if you didn't know.

Next it's off to the Eye doctor because literally overnight, I suddenly could not see. So much so that I didn't want to drive at night anymore because I could not read the signs or focus on much at all. Generally with the birth of each of my children my eyes have worsened a bit. This time it took a while longer but they tripled what they usually do. The only good thing about this is that my perscription has now passed my husbands so that means, by his rules, I get Lasik first. Sorry Honey, your rules!

I now have at least 2 more dental appointments to look forward to, an unknown amount of physical therapy, a much looked forward to OB appt (I know, too much information) and an appt with the Allergist so I can start Allergy shots. Great fun huh, a shot every week for the next 3-4 years! Can't wait for that one! To top it off each of my children have check ups coming up in the next month. I tried to schedule these all together, but that would be too easy, so we have 1 a week for the next 3 weeks.

With all the doctor visits and money I've spent I think I deserve some kind of big diagnosis.

Here's my own diagnosis:
Iatrophobia- Fear of Going to the Doctor.
(More like-Sick of going to the doctor, but it will due.)

I'm exhausted reading about all this! Good luck with everything.
