I thought about calling this post 'Child Abuse 101' but then I realized that might raise a few eyebrows.
Yesterday Jena asked me to post a picture of her black eye so her cousins Allie and Spencer could see it. She is starting to think it's pretty cool because of all the attention it is bringing her. I wasn't here when it occurred but Aunt Teri tells me she was pulling attitude (big surprise) and quickly pulled open a door to make a hasty exit scene when she mis-judged the location of the door handle. We then had weeping and wailing and ice packs and drama like only Jenaka can produce.
To add to the color on her face she has a dry spot by her mouth that she will not leave alone and it is now a big scabby mess.
Then yesterday she decided to mount Sara's little wooden rocking horse and play bucking cowgirl. I'll bet you can guess how that one ended up. That little horse bucked her off into a back flip and kicked her across the cheek bone of the same eye!
I'm going to have to get more pictures of that one because she now has a black under eye and cheek.
On a brighter note, Ryan has been doing excellent with his alarm and we are now down to usually 2 times a night. And if it is after about 4 am, which one usually is, he is waking up on his own so quickly that I don't here it and he has to come wake me! YEAH! It's working!
Here are the kids at their lemonade stand. They made $10.31. Not a bad wage for a 5 & 6 year old. Last summer they ended up with about $40 each after two straight weeks of sales. We took them to open a bank account with the money and they felt so proud! They love to ask me how much is in their account now.
Ryan being the entrepreneur, negotiator, manipulator that he is has decided I need to make cookie's to sell next time and he has also started selling his small toys.
Sara has made it very clear that she will be involved in the family business! She loves to sit on the little chairs and drink the profits up. As you can see here she was out the door clothes or no clothes and she was NOT coming back in! I had to bribe her with a bottle and binkie and her purple blankie that she has taken to dragging with her every where she goes.
