Yesterday I asked Jena why she cut her hair. She adamantly demanded she did not! I told her she could stay in her room until she wanted to tell me the truth. It took about an hour until she was ready to fess up. At that point the conversation went like this-
Mom-Jena what do you think your punishment should be?
Jena-Wait for my hair to grow back.
Mom-That's not a punishment. A punishment is being grounded or loosing the privilege to use scissors or something like that.
(Jena throws herself down on the bed to think. 2 minutes later she pops up)

Jena-Mom, I don't even know what that word means! Why don't you use words that kids know!

She bawled before we came.
She was defiant through the haircut trying her hardest not to smile.
By the time it was done she loved it so much she couldn't help but show it.
I guess next time she tells me she wants her hair cut I will just go cut it immediately before she does it herself!
This is my child who will come home with pink hair one day.She requested curls this morning and her hair curls
like I always dreamed mine would!
So I may have to post a picture later of the less Shirley Temple version.
She read story's to Sara while I did Sara's hair.
Sara is becoming such a mini-me of Jena in her looks but
she is still more like Ryan in personality.
Sara has also picked up Jena's 'Shoe Love'. She pulled these out after I chose the shirt and some sandals and insisted that she wear these. It's like she knows they match the shirt and she wouldn't have it any other way!

I want hair like Jena's!!!! FYI - Faith has that same shirt as Sara and whenever Mike gets her dressed - he ALWAYS picks that shirt. It is so cute!
Remember the things we used to do to our hair and we were definitely old enough to know better. Remember when we shaved the back of our hair. My mom was so mad at me. I don't remember my mom being more disappointed in me. Also, remember that terrible bleach blonde hair you had once. It's just what us girls do. Jenna is just experimenting.
Those are two of the most gorgeous children ever. Seriously.
